Catch the feeling of your model

Portrait

Photography is more than just taking pictures or getting the job done. Something more has to happen!

Catch the feelings.

The secret is to catch the feelings, the mood and expressions of the model. As a photographer specialised in fashion and portrait photography, I always try to push the limits.

For this purpose, I need to focus and communicate only with the model, nothing else matters.

Of course, that means I have to rely on my gear at 100%, especially my flashes.

Why is it that so important?

Well, if you are taking pictures of a musician, an actor or a celebrity, you are confronted with the fact that most of the time you only have 5 minutes to get “THAT picture.” 5 minutes is not much!

That’s why you have to get the connection to your subject as quickly as possible. Only then can you push the limits of your model and the limits of yourself.

My “To Go Set” for my work consists of one ELB 400 battery pack, two Quadra Action Heads, a Rotalux Softbox Octa 100 cm as a main light and one Grid Reflector 18 cm 70° for the background light.

Flexibility

Since I am also travelling a lot, weight and size of my gear is really important. That equipment allows me to keep my system versatile. I can use it in a studio or carry it easily in one trolley along with my camera. This gives my total flexibility in every situation.
